Provincial Nominee Programs

Each province has their provincial nominee programs to ensure they meet their labour shortages and work towards development of their economy. Eligible individuals can apply to be nominated to work and live in the province permanently.

Alberta

AINP Application streams

Qualified candidates from outside Canada can choose from immigration streams for workers and for entrepreneurs.

British Columbia

BCPNP accepts applications under three major categories: Skills Immigration, Express Entry BC, Entrepreneur Immigration. each with their own streams.

Manitoba

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) selects candidates for Manitoba immigration based on the province’s specific economic needs.

  • Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
  • Entrepreneur Immigration
  • International Education Stream
  • Business Investor Stream

New Brunswick

Under the NBPNP, candidates can qualify through one of five categories:

  • New Brunswick Express Entry Stream
  • New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream
  • New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream for Truck Drivers
  • New Brunswick Entrepreneurial Stream
  • New Brunswick Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream.

Candidates can also qualify for New Brunswick immigration via the Atlantic Immigration Pilot

Newfoundland and Labrador

NLPNP Immigration Categories
Under the NBPNP, candidates can qualify through one of five categories:

  • Express Entry Skilled Worker Category.
  • Skilled Worker Category.
  • International Graduate Category.
  • Priority Skills NL
  • International Graduate Entrepreneur Category.
  • International Entrepreneur Category.
  • Atlantic Immigration Pilot.

Northwest Territories

Foreign nationals wishing to relocate to Northwest Territories may apply under the Northwest Territories Program for provincial nomination.
An application may be submitted under one of the following four categories:

  • Skilled Worker Category.
  • Express Entry Skilled Worker .
  • Critical Impact Worker.
  • Business Stream.

Nova Scotia

Candidates who meet the criteria of one of nine different streams can be nominated for Nova Scotia immigration, with a target processing time of three months.

An application may be submitted under one of the following four categories:

 

  • Occupations In Demand.
  • Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry.
  • Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities: Express Entry.
  • Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities For Physicians: Express Entry.
  • Skilled Worker.
  • Physician.

  • International Graduates In Demand.
  • Entrepreneur.
  • International Graduate Entrepreneur.
  • Nova Scotia also operates ‘Study and Stay’, a program specifically aimed at helping international students from China, India and the Philippines stay and build careers in the region after they graduate.

Ontario

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is currently accepting applications under the following streams:

  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream*.
  • Human Capital Priorities stream*.
  • Skilled Trades stream*.
  • Entrepreneur stream.
  • Physician.
  • Occupations In Demand.
  • International Graduates In Demand.
  • Entrepreneur.
  • International Graduate Entrepreneur.
  • The following OINP streams are now open through the OINP Expression of Interest system :

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream.
  • Employer Job Offer: International Student stream.
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream.
  • Masters Graduate stream.
  • PhD Graduate stream.
  • Occupations In Demand.
  • International Graduates In Demand.
  • Entrepreneur.
  • International Graduate Entrepreneur.
  • To apply under Ontario’s Express Entry streams, you must have a profile in the federal government’s Express Entry system and receive a notification of interest from Ontario.

Prince Edward Island

Three SINP program categories you can apply to:

  • International Skilled Worker: for skilled workers who want to work and live in Saskatchewan.
  • Saskatchewan Experience: for foreign nationals who already live and work in Saskatchewan.
  • Entrepreneur and Farm: for those who plan to start a business or buy and operate a farm in Saskatchewan.

Yukon

If you wish to settle in Yukon and become Canadian permanent residents, you can apply through four categories:

  • Yukon Express Entry.
  • Yukon Skilled Worker.
  • Yukon Critical Impact Worker.
  • Yukon Business Nominee Program.

Saskatchewan

If you are seeking permanent residency in Prince Edward Island, one pathway is to be nominated to the federal government through the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Individuals are selected for nomination based on their intention to live and work in PEI and their economic ability to establish here. At this time, priority will be given to entrepreneurs and to individuals qualified to work in areas with identified skill shortages in the PEI labour market.
